Throughout June and into July, weekly interviews will be broadcast as Instagram Live events with The Independent’s journalists in conversation with some of the brilliant musicians, thinkers and comedians on the Latitude bill
Each talk will focus on one of the main pillars which Latitude is celebrated for, interwoven with insight from The Independent’s expert journalists from relevant fields. Starting with music, topics will range across comedy, debate, wellness, and literature and theatre.
The evening Instagram Lives, available to watch on both The Independent and Latitude’s channels, will allow festival fans who are eagerly awaiting the weekend to get to know more about what they can expect, whilst learning about some of the performers which make Latitude such a special event. All guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
The activity will culminate at Latitude itself, which takes place 24–27 July, with a writer from The Independent in conversation with a soon-to-be-announced act on the Listening Post stage.
This year’s musical performers include Sting, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Sigrid, Basement Jaxx, Clean Bandit, Maribou State and Elbow, alongside a phenomenal comedy line-up featuring Reggie Watts, Greg Davies and Bridget Christie.
Chloe Hubbard, UK editor for The Independent, says: “Latitude really is a special festival — it’s a truly unique event and a personal favourite of mine. We’re delighted to be a part of it this year, kicking off the Latitude magic with brilliant preview conversations in the run up to the festival and joining the action at the beautiful Henham Park.”
