For the past four years, Newsworks’ Ad of the Month polls have delivered nail biting competition finishes, last minute winners and a line up of outstanding news brand campaigns
Now, in 2026 Newsworks’ is aiming to raise the stakes. A brand new seasonal poll is bringing fresh energy to the competition, giving the industry a chance to vote for the top ads from across the winter season.
Ad of the winter sees twelve brilliant campaigns go head to head, selected from news brand activity across January and February. This shortlist highlights the power of news brands being able to execute stand out multi-platform ads from bold front page takeovers, tactical placements and the ability to tap into moments, reacting to everything from hit TV shows and films to Valentine’s Day.
Industry votes will be combines with the results of the readers poll, with the overall winner to be crowned the ultimate news brand ad of winter 2026.
In the spirit of awards season, and the Oscars just around the corner., there’s something in it for voters too. One lucky participant will win a £100 Everyman cinema voucher.
That’s not all, in one final twist. While only one campaign can take the winning title, the three most popular ads will earn a place on Newsworks ‘ad of the year’ shortlist, where the winner will take home a glistening Newsworks Awards trophy.

Terms & conditions
Everyone is welcome to join in, but only those working inside the media industry will be eligible to win the prize (£100 Everyman cinema voucher). The prize is non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash.
Newsworks’ ‘Ad of the winter’ is now closed. Participants may enter as many times as they like.
The winner will be picked at random at the close of the competition. The winner will be announced in our News from Newsworks newsletter on Thursday 19 March.
Participants are encouraged to vote for their favourite ad from the selection in order to be entered into the prize draw.
