The Drum panel, including Newsworks’ CEO Jo Allan, talks about how bravery, agility and collaboration led to over 600 news brands carrying a bold, unified message to readers during the pandemic.
Casting their minds back to seven very hectic days in April 2020, the panel discuss the breakneck speed of the news industry’s ‘All Together’ campaign launch, from pitch to execution, how publishers’ Team Nation taskforce was able to adopt a ‘one team’ mentality that ensured campaign effectiveness, as well as the opportunities for the model beyond the pandemic.
As part of the Agencies 4 Growth Festival, The Drum has brought together three key members of Team Nation: Jo Allan, Newsworks’ CEO, Dominic Carter, News UK’s group chief commercial officer and Jo Lawrence, manager director, partnerships at Telegraph Media Group.
Speaking about the campaign, Allan says: “The biggest take-out for me [is] to be really proud of the industry that we work in, how everybody came together, and with a stakeholder business, it makes me really excited about what we can do in the future. We can do lots more as a news industry.”
