Groom named publisher and editor of MailOnline

Danny Groom has been appointed publisher and editor of MailOnline in the UK.

In February, Groom became acting global editor of MailOnline following the departure of Martin Clarke.

He was previously UK editor, and in 2010 spent three years launching and establishing the news brand in the US.

Additionally, Gerard Greaves has been appointed editor-in-chief of the US arm of the site, DailyMail.com.

Both Groom and Greaves will report to Ted Verity, editor of Mail Newspapers.
