In this week’s list of unmissable news brand content, podcasts take centre stage: a new show seeks stories behind comments left online, while another asks if ADHD is over-diagnosed…
1. ADHD over-diagnosed?
Living with ADHD could mean living with symptoms of a busy mind, being more distant, distracted in day-to-day life, restless or being impulsive. With more celebrities opening up about the disorder and a growth in diagnoses in the UK, ADHD has become a hot topic on social media. Prescriptions for medication has nearly doubled in recent years and some people are doubting the rise in cases.
The ‘Stories of our times’ podcast addresses this question, exploring how researchers are understanding more about ADHD, what causes it and why so many people are finding out if they are living with it. Experts believe it affects three to four in every 100 adults”.
2. Embracing the comments
‘Straight to the Comments’ is the Daily Mail’s brand new podcast embracing the hilarious and bizarre comments left under MailOnline stories. Hosts, YouTubers Archie Manners and Josh Pieters, are joined by celebrity guests to read the hilarious and unique comments left about them and to see if they can recognise which stories they come from. Their first guest Dani Dyer discusses her stint on Love Island, her relationships and the story behind Keira Knightley babysitting her as a child.
3. “Goodbye, my lover”
Metro’s Rush Hour Crush is the column where Britain’s commuters try and track down a certain person who have caught their eye en route. On Wednesday, singer-songwriter James Blunt took the role of guest editing the popular section of the newspaper. Blunt confessed that he was someone known to “hang out on the Tube pestering people”, which made him qualified to comment on readers’ hopeless romantic stories. “I do believe in love at first sight, definitely”, he added.
4. Bafta fashion
Held at the Royal Festival Hall, the 77th EE Bafta Film Awards was hosted by actor David Tennant and broadcast around the world, bringing Hollywood and British stars together. The Daily Express takes a look into the array of celebrities that took to the red carpet dressed head-to-toe in glamour.
5. Theatre-goers’ essential guide
