Across July, news brands’ online sports sections saw a total of 19.6 million visitors, according to Ipsos iris monthly data.
That represents an uplift of 9% compared to the average month this year, with audiences racking up 167 million page views in total (up 18% on the 2022 monthly average).
What is more, the data also recorded notable peaks during some of July’s biggest sporting events, including EURO 2022, Wimbledon, the Commonwealth Games and the British Grand Prix.
