The industry’s leading agency strategists and marketers have come together to judge the 2019 Newsworks Planning Awards entries.
Newsworks’ annual awards celebrate the very best stand-out campaigns run in news brands over the past year. Entries this year featured some of the UK’s best-known brands such as Marmite, Fortnum & Mason and Yorkshire Tea, who submitted work for a broad range of clients across multiple industries.
The competition this year was tougher than ever, with judges applauding the talented teams behind the brilliant, innovative and inspiring entries. What stood out for many was the ability of news brands to captivate readers by offering advertisers a trusted environment, tap into popular culture and lean-in to conversations happening across the nation.
Speaking at the judging day, Newsworks’ Client Services & Strategy Director Niki West said: “Once again, it is really fantastic to see how advertisers are harnessing the power of news brands across all their platforms whether that is newspapers, digital, social, video, or even Snapchat. The fact that they are doing this on scale – reaching 26 million people every day – is really driving business results for brands and advertisers.”
This year’s Chair Hiscox Marketing Director Olivia Hendrick added: “It has been a really inspiring, insightful and energising day, reviewing how a broad range of brands have leveraged news brands to disrupt and deliver business results – there is a lot I will take away and a lot that I have learnt”
“It’s been really enjoyable to work with a really interesting panel of people – both agency and client side – and seeing the debates and the discussions around what truly makes a successful campaign. Thank you to all of the judges for all of their energy and input and a final thank you to all of the entrants, it has been a really interesting experience.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 27th November, we look forward to seeing you there.
