Nine monthly champions, 72 fantastic campaigns, thousands of votes cast — it’s been another exciting year of our ‘ad of the month’ polls. However, there could only be one overall champion. After we put our monthly winners into our final shortlist, it was up to you to pick 2025’s top dog. Congratulations to our ‘ad of the year’ winners — PHD UK and Andrex
From tasty Dry January substitutes to summer wardrobe staples and fabulous seafaring adventures, the final shortlist was proof of news brands’ multiplatform storytelling prowess.
However, it was October’s winners PHD UK and Andrex that was voted the industry’s favourite finalist in our poll. The campaign, a print and digital content partnership with the Guardian, encouraged readers to bust school toilet taboos and help children look after their digestive health.
Speaking about the campaign upon their ‘ad of the month’ win, PHD UK told us: “We partnered with The Guardian for our Andrex campaign because of their reputation for tackling sensitive topics, making them the ideal platform to help spark a national conversation around conquering the embarrassment of kids going for a poo at school.
“The partnership has helped us engage with parents in understanding the issue, whilst raising awareness of the stigma. The partnerships ambition was to help normalise the conversation to have a healthy relationship with the bathroom.”
Congratulations to PHD UK, Andrex and all our finalists in what was a hotly contested shortlist — look back at all nine of them here.
