The Mail on Sunday’s Sunday magazine has announced the appointments of Rosie Green as assistant editor (beauty) and Samuel Fishwick as executive entertainment and features editor
Sophie Dearden has also been promoted to fashion director, taking over the position previously held by Shelly Vella.
Jackie Annesley, editor, YOU magazine, said: “I can’t wait to get these new appointments together in the office. Rosie, Sam and Sophie all make me laugh, which is a good place to start when it comes to producing a weekly magazine.
“They will add fresh energy to our digital and print platforms, where I hope our readers are entertained and informed in equal measure by creative covers, clever writing and fabulous photography.”
Rosie Green has been appointed assistant editor (beauty) of YOU magazine and will begin her new position from Wednesday 7 June 2023.
She has written a weekly sex and relationships column for YOU magazine since 2021 and appears regularly on This Morning as their relationships expert.
Rosie said: “I am overjoyed to join the team at YOU magazine and return to my first love – beauty.”
Her journalistic career began when she won the Vogue Young Writers competition in 1993 and then went on to become beauty director of Elle and then Red, where she wrote the hugely popular column Life’s Rosie for ten years.
After going freelance in 2008, writing about beauty, fashion, spas, relationships and health, she wrote a bestselling book entitled ‘How To Heal A Broken Heart’ in 2021 following the collapse of her marriage. She has recently released a podcast of the same name with guests such as Vanessa Feltz and Andrea McLean.
Samuel Fishwick has been appointed executive entertainment and features editor and will be joining the YOU team from Monday 17 July 2023.
He is a senior editor, writer and columnist with a decade’s experience in newspaper and magazine features, including The Independent, Evening Standard and Grazia.
Sophie Dearden has been promoted to fashion director of YOU magazine following a hugely successful career in fashion that has spanned roles at Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and Stylist. She joined YOU magazine in July 2019 and is taking over this position from Shelly Vella.
In other appointments, Sophie Hines is taking on an expanded features role as digital & lifestyle editor which will also include travel, Alice Robertson has been promoted to deputy beauty editor and Stephanie Sofokleous has stepped up to the position of fashion stylist and writer.
