The publisher has reached the milestone ahead of target, it announced on Tuesday
The milestone comes after The Telegraph unveiled its subscriber-led business strategy in 2018, setting the goal of reaching one million subscribers by 2023.
Since the start of 2021, digital volume has increased by 30%. In addition, the publisher’s overall print and digital subscriber volume has grown by more than 100,000 since the start of the year.
Across print and digital, the news brand recorded 658,744 subscriptions in the latest audited figures for August 2021.
Nick Hugh, chief executive of Telegraph Media Group said: “I am delighted that we have seen such substantial subscription growth this year; every part of the business has contributed to this remarkable achievement, and this is yet another key milestone we have hit ahead of schedule.
“This success reflects the quality of our journalism and the continued investment in our digital transformation. As part of this investment we launched our new app earlier this year and it has played a key role in improving the digital experience for our subscribers.”
