Launching on Wednesday 1 June, the new podcast is a celebration of cricket in all its glory and absurdity whilst also providing a forum for cricket fans
Listeners can expect expert insight and analysis from Telegraph commentator and former England captain Michael Vaughan and former England spin bowler Phil Tufnell, as well as lively debates around issues such as the best filling for match teas.
The series will include a variety of interviewees ranging from senior figures from the England and Wales Cricket Board and international cricket stars to chats with viral village sensations.
The first episode of Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club opens with an exclusive interview with Robert Key, Managing Director of the England Cricket Team, who discusses everything from his long-term blueprint for the game in England, his thoughts on grassroots cricket, to what’s in store for new England captain Ben Stokes.
Gary Payne, the Telegraph’s head of sport, said: “I’m delighted that Michael Vaughan and Phil Tufnell are fronting our new cricket podcast, which is an excellent addition to our award-winning sports coverage. I know listeners will greatly enjoy hearing the insights and perspectives from two of the most renowned names in the world of cricket.”
In addition to the new podcast, the Telegraph is revamping its seasonal weekly cricket newsletter, renamed The Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club Newsletter, which will deliver cricket news, stats and analysis.
