The competition will promote and celebrate modern short stories.
Open to anyone who has been published in the UK or Ireland, the short story award is the richest prize for a single short story in English language, with £30,000 going to the winner.
The competition hopes to discover, support and promote the work of new and aspiring writers and last year, attracted 1,256 entries with stories coming from 48 different countries.
The story will need to be 6,000 words or less and the closing date for submissions is 6pm on December 4, 2020.
The longlist will be announced in May 2021, the shortlist in June 2021, and the winner will be announced on July 8, 2021. The winner will be announced on Thursday, July 8 2021.
