Launching on Monday 9 June, the Newsworks Academy will help advertising professionals power up their marketing and media planning by strengthening their knowledge of the UK’s vibrant news publishing industry
Through seven online modules, the free and fast-paced digital learning programme will highlight how news brands can help advertisers achieve their campaign objectives.
The IPA CPD hours-recognised training is aimed at media specialists and marketers — whether they’re starting their first role in marketing or media, or just in need of an update on the ever-evolving news industry.
Those taking the course will receive a thorough grounding in why journalism matters to both readers and advertisers. Course content includes modules on news brands’ diverse audiences, the difference between regulated and fake news as well as what makes news brands such a compelling and effective commercial proposition.
Commenting on the Newsworks Academy’s launch, Newsworks CEO Jo Allan said: “News brands are constantly evolving their commercial proposition, with diverse audiences accessing content across a growing number of platforms. We have developed the Newsworks Academy to help media and marketing professionals harness the power of news brands and to showcase the vital role of trusted journalism.
“The Newsworks Academy will be an invaluable resource for anyone looking to stay on top of the UK’s dynamic news industry.”
