The agency network committed to increasing ad spend in news media by 22% in 2025 as they work to convince the advertising industry of the business case for investing in quality trusted journalism.
With the introduction of Google AI Overviews and other search changes impacting on publishers’ referral traffic, Stagwell has added to its research demonstrating the negative impact of leaving news brands off media plans.
“Campaigns including news in the media mix consistently outperform those that forego news”, said Stagwell chairman and CEO Mark Penn.
“And as the population of exclusive news junkies expands, brands that ignore news advertising are missing the opportunity to drive real results.”
