In this week’s list of unmissable news brand content: France reclaims the world’s longest baguette success, the King gets a lesson in pop culture and some of the country’s biggest stars share tips on how to get on the 40 under 40 rich list….
1. The Sunday Times Rich list
The Sunday Times 40 under 40 is published alongside its ‘Rich List’, the UK’s leading wealth rankings, showcasing young British talent from music, sport, entertainment and business who made their fortunes early in life.
Do you think you have what it takes? Some of the country’s brightest young business talents share their experiences. Harry Kane, the England men’s national football team captain, advised: “Build resilience and remember your roots. Celebrate small wins, build a strong network and offer encouragement and support to others on their journey.”
2. Palace garden party
The King got a lesson in popular culture as he hosted the first Buckingham Palace garden party to celebrate the creative industries.
Around 4,000 guests from the worlds of culture, art, heritage, film, TV, radio and fashion were invited to the prestigious event, from stars of stage and screen to those who work behind the scenes. Among the well-known faces were Model Kate Moss, Comedian Lenny, artist Tracey Emin, film maker Sir Ridley Scott and presenter Maya Jama.
The King met British television presenter and radio DJ Jama, who told the royal, “I host Love Island. I don’t know if you’ve watched it? It’s a reality dating show.”
The King gave a diplomatic shrug before quipping: “There’s one born every minute.”
Asked about her future plans, Jama then said: “I’m just about to go to Spain to film some young people snog someone.”
3. France reclaims baguette world record
Parisian bakers have claimed victory over rivals in Italy, who created a baguette almost 133 metres long in 2019.
For the past five years, bragging rights over the world’s longest baguette have belonged not to the residents of a small village or a city in France, but rather to a clutch of bakers 500 miles away in Como, Italy.
12 bakers from France set out to rectify this by baking their way back to victory. 14 hours later, their efforts were declared a success.
4. Angela Scanlon lifts the lid
Irish presenter Angela Scanlon opens up to Fabulous Magazine on its YouTube channel about her new breakfast radio show and her experience on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. Scanlon discusses loving the weekend morning vibe with coffee and pancakes, but also the challenges of early starts after years of her children being early risers.
5. Everything to know about Collins
