Daily Mail World hits the five million mark on YouTube as it brings viewers the biggest stories from around the globe
In the last two years, the channel has generated a staggering 1.5 billion views, delivered over 40 million watch hours and produced more than 30 videos with over one million views each.
Hit shows have included Battle Board and War on Tape, and an episode of Crossfire, in which former Prime Minister Boris Johnson goes to Ukraine, has been sold to Channel 5.
The Mail say their success has been driven by a focus on developing high-concept, evergreen shows that combine strong storytelling with high production values and an emphasis on viewer retention.
Lisa Snell, the Daily Mail’s executive global head of video, said: “We launched this YouTube channel 11 years ago with an exclusive piece of content from the US. A decade on, I couldn’t be prouder of the industry leading original video journalism our Shows team in London delivers.
“Reaching five million subscribers is a remarkable achievement and testament to the team’s dedication and passion – especially over the past two years.”
