Yesterday’s appointment of Victoria Newton as editor in chief of The Sun brings the total number of women in the top jobs across our national newsrooms to five.
Newton joins Emma Tucker (The Sunday Times), Alison Phillips (Daily Mirror), Katharine Viner (The Guardian) and Roula Khalaf (Financial Times).
Tracy de Groose, Executive Chair Newsworks, said: “To have such an impressive line up of female editors shows how as an industry we are breaking new ground and changing the face of our newsrooms and British journalism as a whole.”
