The war veteran has raised an astonishing £28 million for the NHS.
The WWII veteran Captain Tom Moore was presented with a very special Pride of Britain award by host Carol Vordeman live on TV today.
In an emotional tribute to Moore on Good Morning Britain, she said: “Tom, you’ve raised a quite frankly ridiculous amount of money, you have inspired everyone, young and old alike, and you’ve given us all something to smile about in these difficult times.
“And the other thing I love is that you’ve shown us all that being a bit older doesn’t mean you have to be weak or vulnerable.
“You are the embodiment of what it means to be a Pride of Britain winner.”
Moore has now raised an incredible £28 million for NHS Charities Together from walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.
In response, Moore said: “I’m in totally in awe of this award, it’s such a prestigious one, and thank you to everyone who voted.”
