200 startups applied, including many of the UK’s burgeoning consumer brands, but it was Luna Daily that won the top prize of £250,000 in advertising inventory
Led by Katy Cottam, Luna Daily offers microbiome-balancing body care for all skin types and all ages, fusing body care with outdated, stigmatised and underserved categories, including feminine hygiene, post-partum and menopause.
Inspired by her teenage experience when an intensive course of antibiotics fundamentally changed her skin and gut microbiome, Katy is on a mission to connect women of all ages and stages with each other and their entire bodies.
Bagging a top prize of £250,000 in advertising spend, Luna Daily is already working on their campaign with dmg media.
On winning Media Maestro, founder and CEO of Luna Daily, Katy Cottam, said: “We’re so proud to be named the 2025 Media Maestro winner. From day one, our mission has been to reframe outdated, stigmatised body care categories into a more inclusive, positive experience for women of all ages and stages.
“I want less women to feel like I did as a teenager, and more to feel like I do now — to feel free of the shackles of shame and embarrassment, empowered to make the right decisions for our bodies as we navigate womanhood (from our head, vulva, knees & toes™…and more!).”
“To have our mission recognised by dmg media, with such a powerful platform behind us, is an honour. I can’t wait to bring our campaigns to life and connect with even more women through this incredible opportunity.”
Taos Edmondson, principal at dmg ventures, said: “The second edition of Media Maestro has been a great success, with 200 incredible applicants, ranging from idea stage concepts to companies with eight-figure annual revenues. The strength and depth of applicants give us confidence that the UK consumer sector has a bright future. There’s a huge amount of innovation and growth taking place within all manner of sub-sectors.
“Following on from the trends we saw in 2024, we’re enthused by the diversity of founders operating within the consumer sector. 55% of applicants and 60% of finalists had a founder from an underrepresented background, with 40% of the top 10 (including our winner!) being female-led. There’s still a long way to go, but we hope initiatives such as Media Maestro (and Onstage) help to level the playing field.”
