National and regional news brands in England carry the government’s latest coronavirus messaging.
Today hundreds of news brands in England are running the copy ‘We can help control the virus if we Stay Alert’ as a cover wrap and online homepage takeover. The cover will run in weeklies over the next few days.
The cover wrap encourages readers to play their part in controlling the virus by staying 2 metres apart, washing their hands and thinking of others.
The inside of the cover wrap urges readers to work from home if they can, wash their hands, limit contact with other people and keep a safe distance at work.
This builds on previous messaging that featured in national and regional titles last month urging people to stay at home.
The latest wave of activity is part of an ongoing partnership between the government and newspaper industry, aimed at keeping the public safe and nation united throughout the pandemic.
Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office Michael Gove said at the launch: “Newspapers are the lifeblood of our communities and we need them now more than ever. Their role as a trusted voice and their ability to reach isolated communities is especially vital at this time.”
We will continue to add the cover wraps to our growing gallery, which can be accessed here.
