The relationship will bring festival attendees and The Independent’s arts-loving readers an exciting blend of coverage, news and exclusives
Wilderness is renowned for its sprawling and diverse range of music, arts, food and wellness. It is set to take place from 31 July–3 August at the beautiful nature reserve at Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire.
On the main Wilderness stage, Supergrass, 30 years on from the release of platinum debut ‘I should Coco’, will be playing the album in its entirety and other hits. 90s rave duo Orbital, known for their improvisational approach to live electronic music, and Wet Leg, the multi-award winning indie rock duo that won Best British Group and Best New Artists awards in 2023, will also be playing.
Completing the headliners for ‘Season Fourteen’ of Wilderness are Basement Jaxx, for a full live show after 10 years away from the main stages of the world. Their tour celebrates 25 years of the seminal and virtually unclassifiable album Remedy.
Others booked to present and perform across the weekend include gifted songwriter and artist Jalen Ngonda, polymorphic broadcaster Gok Wan, Hackney Wick-based Yard Theatre, and chefs Andy Beynon and Anna Haugh.
The announcement comes shortly after The Independent revealed its partnerships with Camp Bestival and BRITs Week 2025 for War Child. The publisher remains committed to supporting events, talent and spaces throughout the arts world, and has more music lovers as readers than any other national news brand.
Rory Bett, CEO, MAMA FESTIVALS said: “Wilderness is delighted to be working with the fantastic Independent as our official news partner for the second year.
“We are so excited about this year’s Wilderness with many new aspects of the show to unveil for our amazing audience, both new and returning.
“The Independent is our preferred partner to bring you the latest news and keep you updated on programme developments.”
The Independent’s music editor, Roisin O’Connor, commented: “I’m thrilled that The Independent is once again teaming up with the brilliant Wilderness festival to bring readers news, highlights and coverage — as well as exclusive offers — for this spectacular event.
“This year’s lineup is a brilliantly curated (and eclectic) mix of some of the best live acts around. We can’t wait to join the Wilderness team for a weekend of great music.”
