5. ‘Dirty wellness’
This week, The Telegraph dove deep into the biggest health trend for 2024, the year of ‘dirty wellness’. Gabriela Peacock, nutritionist for Prince Harry, as well as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie explains the term, saying
, this means enough naughtiness to enjoy yourself, but with the tools to know how to offset the fun with good behaviour. Her tips include: ‘If you secretly want that fast food, have it – just focus on protein. Have a KFC, which isn’t great but is at least largely protein and there’s nothing objectively wrong with an Indian takeaway. Many dishes are actually great high-protein food choices.’
“Dirty wellness” is a movement that began in LA and went viral on TikTok in 2023. It’s a move away from restrictive eating and guilt-filled minds and focusses on actively seeking out time for joy every day, setting aside time to strive to look after yourself better and adding some naughty to your nice food treats.
