“I want to thank our millions of readers over the years” said The Sun’s owner Rupert Murdoch.
As the paper celebrates its 50-year anniversary, The Sun picked up an award for the good causes they have championed over the past years.
Speaking at the Society of Editors 20th Anniversary Conference this week, Rupert Murdoch said: “From raising money for Help for Heroes at a time when our wounded troops were being vilified, to knitting blankets for children freezing in refugee camps, we have seen acts of huge generosity.”
The News Corp Exec Chair also spoke of the ongoing fight for press freedom and free speech.
