The news brand says a big thank you to its loyal readers.
In December, the i newspaper teamed up with Magic Breakfast for its 2020 Christmas appeal.
An amazing £340,000 has been raised – beating a succession of fundraising targets – providing over a million school breakfasts for hungry schoolchildren.
Studies featured in yesterday’s i newspaper showed that nine in every class of 30 children, are living in poverty and according to the Food Foundation, 2.3m children are living in families that have experienced food insecurity.
Donors backing the appeal left messages of well wishes such as: “Thank you for organising this appeal and thank you to the Magic Breakfast team for cherishing our most valuable asset – young people.”
An article thanking readers also featured messages from school children:
“Magic Breakfast is an excellent idea because it gives children an opportunity to have food if they can’t afford it at home. It gives me a great start to my day, as breakfast gives me energy.

“I have lots of siblings so it is very hard for my mother and father to afford breakfast for us. Thank you.
