News UK’s Bishton and The Independent’s White have been shortlisted for an award in the ‘Media, Marketing and Creative’ category
Recognising the richness of Black talent, the inaugural edition of the Black Talent Awards will take place in Edgbaston, Birmingham on Thursday 29 September. The awards are hosted by Evenfields Careers and will recognise achievement across a wide range of industries, including the media.
Bishton is the head of creative diversity at News UK, playing a key role in implementing its D&I strategy launched in October 2020. White is The Independent’s race correspondent, reporting on perspectives from within minority ethnic communities and ensuring these perspectives are better spotlighted in the news agenda.
