The Daily Mail’s Andrew Pierce and the Mirror’s Kevin Maguire joined Talk presenter and panel host Julia Hartley-Brewer to discuss and debate the issues that are set to decide next week’s general election
The trio described the “terrible” election campaign so far, with Pierce calling it “one calamity after another in ‘Drowning Street’”. Meanwhile Maguire told delegates why “Reform is a gift for Labour”.
Despite a “woeful” show from the Tories, the journalists were on top form at The Media Leader Summit at RIBA in London today, discussing all from likely majorities, predictions for a post-election economy boost and why immigration is still top of the agenda, to “PFL… proper lunches” with Nigel Farage.
The panel also cast an analytical eye beyond the English Channel, weighing in on Biden versus Trump, in which Maguire said: “The choice is doddery over deranged… I’d take doddery any day.”
When it comes to AI and fake news, Pierce said it’s “a huge worry”, while Maguire was firm that “it’s a threat to democracy”.
