The latest PAMCo data shows that daily news brand readership is at a record high.
Daily readership is now at 26 million across print, PC and mobile. This translates into 45 million monthly readers, equating to 84% of the British public. The numbers demonstrate continued growth in the industry and show that news brands get the same weekly and monthly reach as Facebook or Google.
Readers are fully embracing the multi-platform nature of today’s news industry. With daily readership increasing, digital news brand platforms are experiencing double-digit growth year on year.
Although mobile is emerging as the most popular platform for accessing news brands especially among younger audiences, print remains strong with 11.5 million daily newspaper readers.
Speaking at Cannes Lions this week, Newsworks Chair Tracy De Groose commented: “News is in growth. Daily news readership is at an all-time high with 26 million readers every day. As an industry, we need to remind advertisers of our scale and our unique relationship with audiences across a strong and diverse portfolio of news brands.”
