The free virtual event will run from 12-16 October.
This year’s theme will be around marketing effectiveness for a post-Covid recovery and will provide attendees with the knowledge they need to navigate the new normal.
As a sponsor, we will host a satellite event together with Mediatel and in partnership with NMA and Society of Editors where we will present our new research ‘World Without News’.
The research took an in-depth look at how the nation values trusted news, especially since the pandemic. The virtual event will kick off with an introduction by Newsworks’ new managing director Jo Allan, followed by a 20-minute dive into the research highlights and then a panel session moderated by Mediatel’s news editor Michaela Jefferson.
Michaela will be joined by a line-up of experts from the worlds of journalism and media – The Sunday Times’ Rebecca Meyers, Basingstoke Gazette’s editor Katie French, PHD UK’s publishing director Demi Abiola and Newsworks’ Denise Turner. They will discuss and debate the results and broader themes around the importance of news and journalism. You can explore the agenda here.
Effworks Global will include sessions covering how to sell uncomfortable news, whether marketing effectiveness is on the CEO agenda and how humans respond to extreme experiences.
Sign up for a week of learning, where you will hear from the likes of comic actress and writer Sally Phillips, journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed and CEO of ITV Dame Carolyn McCall, DBE.
