The Awards return to spotlight outstanding news brand advertising; Eyre heads up the judging panel after joining Asda in August
The awards will once again recognise and reward the very best advertising in news brands. It will champion innovative and effective multiplatform ads, brilliant purpose-led, sustainability-conscious campaigns, plus clever craft, quick wit, beautiful designs and everything in between.
Alongside the grand prix award, we’ll also honour impressive young agency talent with our rising star prize, celebrate the ultimate advertiser of the year and crown the industry’s ad of the year, as voted for by you.
2025 sees Asda’s new chief customer officer Rachel Eyre head up the judging panel, which also includes Kara Osborne (CEO, UM London), Patrick Affleck (CEO, Havas Media Network UK & Ireland), Victoria Appleby (CEO, T&P), Ben Brown (head of media and channel activation, Allwyn UK), Graeme Adams (general manager, media, BT) and Emma Mahoney (marketing director, P&O Cruises).
With an outstanding calibre of entries expected to this year’s Newsworks Awards, Newsworks CEO Jo Allan commented: “The best submissions combine a brilliant use of multiplatform formats with news brands’ high reach, engagement and trust — everything that makes them such a compelling commercial proposition.
“I can’t wait to see all the fantastic work from across the industry.”
Rachel Eyre, Asda chief customer officer and Newsworks Awards 2025 chair of judges, added: “Extensive reach and strong engagement are vital components to any effective marketing strategy. Trusted, quality news brands are proven environments for these, delivering strong return on investment.
“I’m keen to see agencies and advertisers harnessing news brands’ key strengths to produce winning campaigns that are creative, innovative and — most importantly — effective.”
Entries open on Monday 1 September and can be submitted here. The Awards party will take place on Tuesday 2 December at the 12th Knot rooftop bar on London’s South Bank.
