The prime minister spoke to Metro about the government’s commitment to tackling deepfake abuse as part of its special International Women’s Day content
The interview, which was conducted at a Downing Street event to commemorate the day, outlined how Starmer’s government was planning to tackle the growing image-based abuse online, as well as the impact it had on victims.
Other content in the feature included a story from Metro editor-in-chief Deborah Arthurs on the prime minister’s ‘personal’ mission to tackle violence against women, as well as soundbites from guests at the No 10 event about what needs to be done to improve women’s lives.
The double-page spread took over the first two inside pages of the Metro’s print edition on Monday, with content also featured on its website. This will be followed up with content across social media in the days to come.
