Lando Norris claimed his first Formula One win at last weekend’s Miami Grand Prix. The McLaren driver beat triple world champion and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen to take the flag for the first time in 110 appearance since. He made his debut in Australia in 2019.
The Guardian shares a video of an emotional Norris on YouTube. After crossing the line, Norris joked:
“Today was my day, when someone was like, “I’m going to throw the safety car now” , and it all worked out perfectly so, whoever that person was, I thank them, and I share my trophy and champagne with them.”
3. The Times Young Power List
The Sunday Time’s first ever Young Power List celebrates hard work and ingenuity in its many forms. Those featured include artists and entertainers, sportsmen and women dominating their field, entrepreneurs changing the world for the better, tech trailblazers, a political powerhouse and many more.
The winners from across the UK and Ireland were chosen by editors across every section at The Sunday Times. They selected the people who they believe are making a real impact in the world and whose success will endure in the future.
Those listed share their stories, revealing the determination needed to excel in their fields, the unexpected advantages of youth and inexperience and the unwavering passion that motivates them all.
4. How running clubs got cool
The Evening Standard’s feature writer and podcaster Katie Strick asks readers if marathons are the new fashion shows, diving into how running clubs are the next big thing and are all about chasing highs over PBs.
A usual night out includes pubs and clubs for most; however, Strick met one crowd of people in their 20s to 30s gathered under a railway arch near London Bridge, setting off confetti cannons for a club run with dance music blaring from several neon-lit sound systems.
Running is not only a new way of socialising; it’s also being used as a new “dating vertical” for those looking for a bit of romance.
5. Hound siren sounds
In a viral video on the Daily Mail’s TikTok account, adorable Aussie pub Kaido takes his job very seriously, howling along with a passing ambulance as his owner biked around New York.
