Restructuring its sales, marketing and technology operations to focus on its brands, News UK’s titles will now each have its own commercial team
Carter moves from his position as News UK group chief commercial officer to take on responsibility and oversight for The Sun’s commercial strategy, including helping the news brand grow digital advertising and its audience both in the UK and internationally.
Meanwhile, News UK chief financial officer Chris Longcroft will become interim EVP, publisher of The Times and The Sunday Times while the business looks to fill the role on a permanent basis. Longcroft will continue in his role as CFO.
David Dinsmore, chief operating officer, becomes EVP, COO, overseeing strategic client relationships and print operations.
Dinsmore will also take group-wide responsibility for developing News UK’s partnerships with tech platforms, working to ensure the value of its content is recognised wherever it is distributed.
