The Awards are back to celebrate outstanding advertising in news brands
The Newsworks Awards recognise and reward the very best campaigns in news brands. They champion innovation, effectiveness and purpose, plus the craft, wit and creativity that make journalism such a compelling environment for advertisers.
Recognising news brands’ growing expertise in developing in-house creators to create and distribute multiplatform editorial and commercial content, 2026 sees the inaugural ‘best use of video, audio or social’ award. Whether short-form, long-form, podcast or reel, we’re looking for campaigns that harnessed innovative news brand formats to drive impressive business results.
As ever, we’ll also be celebrating impressive young agency talent with our rising star prize, giving recognition to the ultimate advertiser of the year and crowning the industry’s ad of the year, as voted by you. We’ll close the night by giving away the coveted grand prix award, chosen by the chair of judges.
This year, that role is filled by Center Parcs chief marketing officer Sara Holt, joined by industry leaders including the7stars founder Jenny Biggam, UM CEO Sarah Nugent, Carat UK president Mike McCoy, TUI head of international marketing Rachel Moss, Macmillan Cancer Support chief engagement officer Sonia Sudhakar and Boots UK head of media strategy and planning Amy Caven.
Commenting on the launch of the Newsworks Awards 2026, Newsworks CEO Jo Allan said: “As news brands continue to develop innovative formats for readers, advertisers are stepping up to the challenge with exciting briefs. The last 12 months have seen so many outstanding campaigns produced in collaboration with publishers, including their dedicated in-house creator teams.
“I’m looking forward to seeing another year of fantastic work from across the industry.”
Entries open on Tuesday 1 September and can be submitted here. The Awards party will take place on Tuesday 1 December at the 12th Knot rooftop bar on London’s South Bank.
