Readers have the chance to win a £5,000 drinks tab for their favourite pub
‘Save Our Pubs’ calls on readers to nominate their favourite local and explain in 250 words why their pub is the cornerstone of their local community, with five lucky pubs to be chosen from across Britain
The news brand has been campaigning to save Britain’s pubs, chronicling the economic pressures crippling the hospitality industry and featuring personal stories from landlords in a series called ‘Last Orders.’
Pubs that have been open for centuries are now crumbling as a direct result of cuts to rates relief and high taxes from the current government, with an average of four pubs per day closing. This is leaving towns and villages robbed of vital pillars of their communities.
Readers have until 11 April to nominate their local pub. Winners will be chosen by expert judges and announced on 25 April.
The five winning pubs will celebrate with the £5,000 drinks tab on The Telegraph’s ‘National Pub Day’ on 16 May. Further details on the campaign and how to enter can be found here.
