It was certainly no bog standard print edition of the Guardian on Friday, with renewable toilet paper brand Who Gives A Crap taking out every single ad space in the main section of the newspaper to ask the nation’s bums to save the planet
With more than one million trees cut down to make traditional toilet paper every day, the recycled loo roll brand calls on Britain’s ‘peachy posteriors’ to make a switch to stop “flushing forests down the toilet”.
Taking every ad space in the main section of Friday’s print edition of the Guardian, the campaign uses double-page spreads, half-pages, open letters and even the ‘backside’ of the paper to spread the word.
Also part of the campaign are native ads showing how recycled toilet paper helps consumers fight deforestation, as well as public service announcement ads running across the Guardian’s audio network.
