Branded content demonstrates how the latest economic package can help businesses.
The latest sponsored stories offer guidance on business support and provide case studies on how companies can make the government’s economic package work for them.
The guidance includes information on all the different types of support available to businesses including VAT deferrals, business rates holidays and eviction protection.
In May, the branded content featured in hundreds of titles in England and throughout June and July, featured in news brands across Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Examples from businesses receiving help include Ruth Hyde from Chelsfield who runs a cryotherapy clinic. Ruth had to close her doors due to coronavirus and is using the government’s job retention scheme, the small business grant and is applying for a bounce back loan to get back on track (via Daily Mirror).
Another example is Jessy Kauldhar from Brimingham who runs an interior design studio. Jessy is using the bounce back loan, which provides up to £50,000 to small businesses (via Birmingham Mail).
This is the latest wave of “all in, all together” branded content that has gone live as part of an advertising partnership launched in April 2020, between the government and newspaper industry, aimed at keeping the public safe and nation united throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
The campaign idea was developed as a way of delivering government communications in an intimate, human and compassionate tone that readers can relate to.
