Readers and journalists encouraged to vote for their top players and clubs.
Calling all football fans. Reach’s sports network is putting supporters at the heart of sporting conversations with its first ever Premier League ‘Fans’ footballer of the year’ awards.
Football fans are being called on to vote for both clubs and players they think deserve to win best club and best footballer of the win, via the competition’s website.
As well as igniting conversation through Reach sports sites, 20 videos are being created about the clubs and players in contention for each award.
Reach’s sport podcasts will be covering the awards with dedicated content in the run-up to the winners being announced and brand-new football podcast ‘The Football Digest’ will be running a special story on the awards.
Commenting on the awards Jon Birchall, audience and content director for Reach Sports said: “Our ‘Fans’ footballer of the year’ awards is a true multi-platform experience which puts the power back in the hands of the people who really matter – the supporters. In a tough year for fans, it is only right that they get to choose who deserves the prize.”
Kristian Walsh, head of audience engagement at Reach Sports added: “The year of 2020 isn’t one we will forget in a hurry, including from a sporting perspective. Our journalists have been there every step of the way to inform and entertain fans up and down the country during the pandemic. Now we are combining our journalists and fans together, giving supporters a voice so they can crown their best footballers of the year.”
