Over one in two women feel their pain has been ignored or dismissed because of their gender, according to the Nurofen Gender Pain Index Report 2022. That shocking statistic has spurred the pain relief provider into action to support and listen to those left feeling invisible
Nurofen teamed up with Metro’s cover wrap on Tuesday to make its commitment to closing what it called the Gender Pain Gap: the pain felt by many women that “is consistently overlooked in healthcare, under-represented in research and dismissed due to ingrained gender biases”.
The wrap commits Nurofen to gender-balanced clinical trials across all its products, commissioning new research to better understand pain in women, investing in training to overcome healthcare gender bias and more.
