This year’s Journalism Matters week, the annual News Media Association campaign to highlight the importance of trusted journalism to our society, will take place this year from 31 October to 6 November
Last year, hundreds of local and national titles took part in the campaign which kicked off with an article by Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries MP who called on the public to back “our world-renowned news industry” by buying newspapers or going on to news media websites.
NMA chief executive Owen Meredith said: “Journalism Matters is a unique opportunity for the industry to come together to remind all our audiences and stakeholders why journalism is so important in our society today.”
Newsworks will be taking part in the week by releasing market-leading research about trust.
