In a shortlist full of ads daring to do things a little differently, picking a winner was always going to be tough. However, after seven days of the lead chopping and changing, it’s Burger King’s cheeky contextual print and digital ad that has been named March’s ad of the month.
With former prime minister Boris Johnson forced to assert he hadn’t lied to MPs about ‘partygate’, the fast food brand reminded readers where to find the ‘proper Whopper’.
Cheekily pointing out there’s ‘no smoke without fire’ (surely talking about their burgers), the directly-booked ad was placed on Metro’s front page above the headline as well as across digital.
