“Your encouragement and backing have helped to steer i through the coronavirus pandemic so far” said editor Oliver Duff.
On 6 July, the i newspaper printed its 3,000th edition.
The paper, which stands for independent journalism and free-thinking, was launched back in 2010.
In a letter to readers, editor Oliver Duff thanked them for their support throughout the pandemic: “Whether this is the first time you have picked up i or you’ve read every single issue (and there are a lot of “day-oners” about), thank you so much for your support.
“Life is fragile and beautiful. We don’t take anything for granted.”
He added: “Your encouragement and backing have helped to steer i through the coronavirus pandemic so far.
“In the months to come, our editorial and commercial teams have a lot of hard work ahead to ensure that i is on the soundest possible footing.”
