The supermarket partnered with both the Mirror and the Express in print and digital to share how the new scheme will help children in particularly deprived areas to access fresh fruit and vegetables during the school day
The initiative, in partnership with social media influencer and celebrity chef Poppy O’Toole, aims to allow 140,000 primary and secondary children at 400 schools the chance to feast on fresh fruit and vegetables. Tesco is providing £4 million for the scheme, giving youngsters in some of the UK’s most deprived areas access to delicious produce.
The campaign is brought to life in print and digital brand partnerships in both the Express and the Mirror, speaking to teachers at Mandeville Primary School in London to see how the scheme has made a difference to pupils’ everyday nutrition.
Ken Murphy, Tesco Group chief executive, uses a column within the partnership to say: “Tesco Fruit & Veg for Schools will make a real difference by providing something that young people look forward to receiving every day, and we hope it will be another little nudge to get them eating healthy food.”
