1. An incredible achievement
Adele Roberts broke a world record in the London Marathon less than a year after a year after finishing chemotherapy, The Telegraph reported. On Sunday, the BBC Radio 1 DJ became the fastest women ever to run the race with an ileostomy when she completed the race in 3 hours, 30 minutes and 22 seconds. Roberts, was diagnosed with stage two bowel cancer in 2021 and received the all clear from doctors in June, said: “Thank you so much to everybody who was actually in the race, there were so many lovely people on the course and also everybody who came out to cheer even though it was raining. We did it.”
2. Anything is paw-sible
In a Twitter video shared by the Mirror, a group of disabled rescue dogs took a trip to the seaside for the first time. The pups currently live at Dogs4Rescue, a Greater Manchester-based dog sanctuary. The rescue centre has rescued and rehomed over 1,000 dogs, with many saved from countries like Spain and Ukraine. The team is raising funds to open a new site near Accrington.
